Bulk Milk Cooler Testing

GIE Cemafroid has a 195m3 air-conditioned cell for conducting regulatory tests on bulk milk coolers. This enables the testing of 2- or 4-milking equipment up to 12,000 litres in capacity.

Reference Regulations / Standards
Tests are performed in application of the NF EN 13732 standard (December 2005) the compliance to which has been made compulsory due to impacts on public health (Order of 24 August 1982).

Milk is in effect a highly perishable product which requires, as soon as milking has been performed, to be cooled at +4°C in order to slow down or stop microbial development.

In France, more than 20 billion litres of collected milk are cold-processed.

Cemafroid is accredited by COFRAC for Programme number 12, "Bulk Milk Cooler Testing".

Tests are conducted under the "NF refroidisseurs de lait" (NF milk cooler) mark, the secretarial function of which is run by ATITA.
