Refrigeration Unit Testing

GIE Cemafroid has two climatic cells for conducting refrigeration unit capacity tests.

Unit capacity is measured on a calorimetric vessel by placing the test appliance in thermal opposition to resistors.

Refrigeration capacity is measured for different levels of inside temperature (-20°C, 0, +12°C), the vessel being placed in a cell whose temperature is maintained at +30°C.

The laboratory tests multi-evaporator and multi-temperature refrigeration units. It also conducts air flow measurements.

Reference Regulations / Standards
The reports written by Cemafroid allow the Veterinary Services to issue approvals to body-unit assemblies in compliance with:
National regulation: Order of 28 July 1998.
Agreement on the International Carriage of Perishable Foodstuffs (international regulation).

Equipment
Characteristics of the climatic cells:
Volume: 160 m3
Refrigeration capacity:10 to 50 kW
Heating capacity: 15 kW
Temperature range: -10 to +40°C
Variable ventilation: 0 to 60 000 m3/h
One calorimetric vessel: 22 m3
One modular vessel: 4,5 ; 9 and 13 m3
